Switching from Music Teacher's Helper? We’ll carry everything over.
Lesson Complete is the all-in-one platform that runs your music school for $0.49 per active student — a student in two programs counts once — with every feature included, unlimited staff, and native apps. And this summer we migrate your whole school for you, free.
Free for your first 4 students · No credit card required · Month-to-month
Music Teacher's Helper is one of the longest-serving tools in this corner of the world — it has been looking after independent music teachers since the mid-2000s, and a lot of studios have run their invoicing, calendar, and lesson notes on it happily for years. If you are a private teacher whose setup works, that history counts for something and we will say so.
What changes is the road ahead. The company behind it now ships Duet, which its own site currently describes as single-teacher access, while the legacy app keeps running for the studios already on it and the multi-teacher sibling, Studio Helper, is where growing schools land. Somewhere between your second teacher and your second location, that becomes a decision — and it is the decision we were built for.
What changes when you leave Music Teacher's Helper
Tiered monthly plans by student count — you pay for the tier ceiling, not the students you actually have this month.
A bill that tracks your real roster
Student-count tiers mean paying for headroom: at 31 students you pay the 50-student price, and a summer dip doesn’t lower the bill.
Per-active-student pricing is exact: pause or graduate a student and the bill drops automatically. 31 active students costs 31 × $0.49 — a student in two programs still counts once — never a tier above.
Built for schools, not just solo studios
Tools designed around one teacher strain when you add faculty, locations, and an admin desk.
Multi-teacher calendars, role-based permissions, payroll splits, and a whole-school command center are core features — and solo teachers still start free.
Automation past the invoice
Invoicing helps, but reminders, failed-payment retries, review requests, and re-enrollment nudges still need a human.
Autopay retries failed cards, reminders send themselves, reviews get requested after great lessons, and Needs Attention surfaces the rest before it slips.

Run the numbers at your size
Lesson Complete is $0.49 per active student, capped at $195 a month per location. Here is how that lines up against Music Teacher's Helper as a school grows.
| School size | Lesson Complete | Music Teacher's Helper |
|---|---|---|
| ~100 students | $49 / moA summer dip to 80 students does not move you down a tier. | The plan tier whose student ceiling covers you — you pay the ceiling, not the roster |
| ~250 students | $122.50 / mo | A higher student tier — and at this size the multi-teacher sibling product, Studio Helper, is the one built for you, priced as a base plan plus a per-student fee |
| ~500 students | $195 / mo — cappedOur price stops here. After 398 students, every new student is free. | The top of the tier ladder, or a base plan plus a per-student fee that keeps climbing with the roster |
Music Teacher's Helper prices by student-count plan tiers, and its multi-teacher sibling Studio Helper prices as a base plan plus a per-student fee, so your total depends on which product you are on and where your roster falls — verify current rates on their site. Note that musicteachershelper.com now points to Duet Partner; the legacy app continues to serve existing customers. Lesson Complete pricing verified July 2026: $0.49 per active student, capped at $195/mo per location.
What gets better the day you switch
- If you take cards through your own Stripe account — the way Music Teacher’s Helper has you connect it — we connect that same account, so your customers and their saved cards come with you and families re-enter nothing.
- Your bill becomes exact instead of a tier ceiling: 31 active students is 31 × $0.49, and a student in two programs still counts once.
- Every teacher, admin, and front-desk person you add is free, so growing past a one-teacher setup costs nothing in software.
- Native iPhone and Android apps, a built-in sheet-music library, and Beacon — an AI teammate — are all part of the same price.
Switching takes three steps. We do two of them.
Send us what you have
A CSV export, a Stripe connection, a spreadsheet — even a pasted list. Our importer reads them all, and we handle the cleanup.
We set your school up
Teachers, students, families, schedules, and billing plans arrive configured to match how you run things today. You review; we adjust.
Flip the switch together
Invite teachers and families when you’re ready. You stay on your old system until the moment you’re confident — no gap, no double entry.
The September-Safe promise: we do not cut over until you say go. Come in over the summer, run both systems side by side, and flip to Lesson Complete only once your fall schedule is loaded and you have signed off. No gap on the busiest week of your year.
Lock your rate for life
The first 25 schools to join get their per-student rate and their $195 cap locked for good, free white-glove migration, free until your fall term starts, and a direct line to the founder — I am 20 minutes away in Houston.
Moving is safe, and so is staying
Your students, families, and money records are yours — export them any time, cancel any time, no lock-in. See exactly how we handle your school’s data and how billing and payouts stay clean.
Migration questions, answered
What does the free migration include?
We move your whole school for you — every teacher, student, family, and schedule — and set up your billing plans to match how you charge today. Free during Summer 2026.
What do I need to export?
Usually just the student/family export (CSV) from your current system, or a Stripe connection if you bill there. Our importer also reads pasted lists, spreadsheets, and calendar files.
How long does switching take?
Most schools are live within a few days: import on day one, review the roster together, then invite teachers and families when you’re ready. You stay on your old system until you flip.
Will my families have to re-enter payment details?
If you bill through Stripe today, we can migrate customers and saved payment methods through Stripe’s official process. Otherwise families add a card once at their first invoice — with autopay from then on.
Is there a contract or setup fee?
No contract — month-to-month, cancel anytime. Onboarding and setup are a $499 value we waive for founding schools who join during the launch window, and your first 4 active students are free, so a small studio can try the whole platform without paying a cent.
What if I use a system that isn’t listed here?
The migration offer applies to any system — or no system at all. Send us whatever you have (spreadsheets, paper, another app’s export) and we’ll take it from there.
Can I move my Music Teacher's Helper payment data to Lesson Complete?
Usually yes, and more easily than most switches. Music Teacher's Helper has you connect your own payment account — many studios paste in their own Stripe keys — which means the customers and saved cards already live in an account you own. We connect that same Stripe account through Stripe's official process, so your families keep autopay and re-enter nothing. If you billed through PayPal, those agreements can't transfer, so those families save a card once at their first invoice and autopay continues from there.
Is Duet Partner the same as Music Teacher's Helper?
Same company. Music Teacher's Helper and its multi-teacher sibling Studio Helper were acquired in 2021 and the marketing site now points to Duet Partner; the legacy app still runs for existing customers. Our migration doesn't care which of the three you're on — send us the student, lesson, and billing export you can pull today (they come out as Excel/CSV) and we'll rebuild your school from it, free during Summer 2026.
